The Oasis Academy boys basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak on Senior Night.
The Bighorns swept Excel Christian with a 38-31 win on Friday at the city-county gym after they dropped contests to Smith Valley and Whittell on the road.
In the win Friday, Oasis jumped out to a 10-1 lead after the first quarter and held on despite being outscored in each of the remaining quarters.
Senior Jacob Pike led the team with 14 points, and senior Trevor Halloran hit a pair of 3-pointers to finish with 11 points. Freshman Fenn Mackedon scored seven points.
In a 46-43 loss to Smith Valley on Tuesday, two scored in double figures with Pike leading with 19 points and Halloran finishing with 16, including a trio of 3-pointers. Mackedon had seven points.
In a 69-55 loss to Whittell on Thursday, the Warriors scored 20 points in each of the first two quarters to lead by eight at the break. Facing the same deficit in the final quarter, Oasis Academy saw the host break free with a 17-point effort to win by 14.
Halloran hit nine 3-pointers to finish with 31 points while Pike scored 10 and Mackedon had seven. Junior Casamaro White scored five points.
Halloran leads the entire 1A in scoring average (21.4 points per game) and total 3-pointers (67). Pike leads the state in shooting percentage at 62 percent.

Oasis Academy next hits the floor Saturday with a road game against Coleville before hosting Sage Ridge on Feb. 11 and traveling to Pyramid Lake on Feb. 12 to end the regular season. The girls team also travels to ROP on Friday.
