A total of 24 people died on Nevada roadways during January but that is a 27 percent decrease from January 2021, when 33 were killed.
A spokesman for the Nevada Department of Public Safety said that, as usual, top contributors to the deaths were impairment and speeding.
Included in the list were six pedestrians, all but one of them in Clark County. The remaining pedestrian death was in Washoe County.
The report says only three of the vehicular fatalities were unrestrained occupants.
The number of pedestrian deaths is also down from last year when six were killed in January.
The number of motorcyclists killed in the month was also down to just three compared to five a year ago and, during January, no bicyclists died on Nevada roadways.
