The Churchill County Republican Party is preparing for three major events during the next 30 days, beginning with precinct meetings.
The local Republicans met last week to discuss precinct meetings and the annual Lincoln Day Dinner, a major fundraiser and platform for current office holders and candidates to attend and introduce themselves.
Nineteen precinct meetings for Churchill County will be conducted on Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. All meetings will be held at the Rafter 3C Arena in the Buckland Room, 227 Sheckler Road.
Each precinct will have an individual table or group of tables within the main hall. The number of delegates to the county convention will be chosen at the meeting.
According to the local Republicans, if you would like to participate in the organization of the Republican Party for the upcoming two years, attend the precinct meeting later this month.
On March 12, the Churchill County Republicans’ county convention also will be held at the Rafter 3C Arena beginning at 10 a.m.
During the county convention, delegates to the state convention will be elected, and a central committee will be chosen for two years. Other party affairs will be considered.
Delegates to the county convention will be chosen Feb. 26.
According to the Churchill County Republicans, a voting precinct is entitled to a number of delegates in proportion to the number of registered Republican voters who reside in each precinct.
