Animal to human transplants
Sometime around the 5th century in Greece, a guy named Protagoras decided that, “Man, is the measure of all things.”
From that point forward, we have really picked up on that, and decided he was right. We humans have progressively added to that attitude ever since.
The point is, that premise was determined within the realm of mankind and not within any creational action by our mutual “first cause.” It has no scriptural basis whatsoever.
This leaves us with many unproven questions as to importance, consent, usefulness, need, mutual benefit, having or being, souls, etc.
If we can so easily change our attributes for our betterment, can we just as easily ignore them as well? Humility helps.
Just where are we in the scheme of things? There is also no evidence that we are in charge as WE have absolutely nothing that we didn’t receive from something else before arriving here.

The next Supreme Court justice
Since 1789, there have been 115 Supreme Court justices. Of those, 108 or 94% have been white males. But that’s not all they have in common. Of the 115 justices, 91 are or were Protestant. I have nothing against white male Protestants. I myself am a white, female, Protestant.
There are over 200 law schools in the United States, yet a preponderance of Supreme Court justices have attended either Harvard or Yale, and a majority of justices are from the East Coast.
Choosing a Supreme Court candidate outside of the cookie cutter, white male Protestant mold does not automatically mean the candidate is of some lesser quality. James F. Byrnes (1941-42) was the last white male appointed to the Supreme Court who did not attend law school and in fact did not even graduate from high school. There were 47 other justices who never attended law school and 18 justices that attended law school but never graduated.
I’m confident that whoever President Biden nominates to the Supreme Court will have unimpeachable credentials. White males make up approximately 30% of our population, let’s give the other 70% a chance to serve on the Supreme Court to better reflect the diversity of our country and the diversity of their views.

Thank you for votes against slaughterhouse
Kudos to Lisa Schuette, Stan Jones, and Stacey Giomi for listening to your constituents and overturning the approval for a slaughterhouse on Highway 50. I also thank Doreen Mack, Jennifer Verive, Robert Butner, and Kathleen Simmons for tenaciously speaking up on behalf of residents who would be negatively impacted by this business.
I don’t live near Highway 50 and I support not building a slaughterhouse anywhere near residential areas in our city.
Thanks again for supporting our quality of life.
