The gambling bills were yesterday the special order in the Assembly. The bill to prohibit gambling was lost, but the one to restrict the game to second story rooms was passed.

Race Hatred. The Washoe Indian never did particularly like the man from China, but about the time the Celestial New Year begins the Washoe is polite enough to temporarily desist. From insulting the saffron hued Oriental, and rather makes a feint to coddle up to him, expecting, of course, to share in some of the good food in which the man from China indulges during this period.

Shooting Affray at Eureka. William Whalen received a bullet in the arm form a shot fired by Andrew Senfert at Alpha, Eureka county last week. Senfert had been employed to perform the annual labor on the Whalen copper claims of which Whalen was superintendent.

The board of commissioners of Ormsby county, at the special meeting held last evening, took preliminary steps to construct a hangar at the county airport, northeast of the city and near the Carson Hot Springs. The Pathfinder Flying Service agreed to sign a lease for the period of two and a half years at the rental of $50 per month.

The Carson City Railroad Association found a deal on railroad tracks in Texas recently and has asked the Board of Supervisors to help fund the $9,000 purchase. The track will be used for the model railroad in Mills Park.

To Dr. James Thom, two automobile tires, under Classification Group A (Physician). Chairman August Berning Jr. of the Ormsby rationing board was today advised by telegram that no camelback will be available for the use of recapping and retreading tires.
