The Rotary Club of Carson City is looking for talented young musicians to take part in the club’s annual music contest. The contest is open to students in the 9th-12th grades, or 14-18 years of age for home schooled or non-traditionally schooled students. The first round takes place on Tuesday, March 1, at noon at the Brewery Arts Center.
All musical instruments are welcome. The student needs to perform for 3 to 8 minutes. There are three rounds to the competition. Winners from other Rotary Clubs will compete at the Area contest on March 29, noon, at the BAC.
The winner of the Area Contest will compete at the District contest at Harrah's Hotel in South Lake Tahoe on April 30, at 2 p.m.
Cash prizes are awarded at all three rounds. The first-place winner in the final round will win $1,000, second place is $750 and third place is $500.
