The Biden administration’s two nominees for open U.S. district court seats in Nevada are headed to a final confirmation vote in the Senate.
Judge Christina Silva and Professor Anne Traum were approved by the Judiciary Committee with bipartisan support.
Both women were selected from a list vetted by the bipartisan judicial commissions set up by Nevada U.S. Sens. Jacky Rosen and Catherine Cortez Masto.
Traditionally, each state’s senators have a role in filling district judge positions.
They described both as highly-qualified nominees who will serve Nevadans well on the federal bench.
