The Carson City School District on Monday announced transportation service would resume Wednesday, with a few of its routes doubling up and minor time delays to be expected.

Families, however, should still expect to transport students without individual education plans to and from school on Tuesday, according to a statement from the district.

Services initially were limited Friday to special education routes late Thursday afternoon when the original call went out at 4:20 p.m. with about 50% of its staff unable to work, according to Superintendent Richard Stokes on Friday. About 1,500 students who typically use the district’s bus services had been impacted by the loss of services.

“We apologize for any inconvenience and disruption to family schedules and thank our community and families for their patience,” according to district officials in Monday’s statement. “Navigating how we hold school these past two years has been anything but predictable.”

The district continues to encourage parents, families and employees to conduct Daily Self-Screenings. If any employee or student is actively exhibiting illness symptoms, the district encourages them to remain home. Please refer to the Revised Isolation and Quarantine Guidance provided by the county health department.
