Vida D. Keller, a two-term commissioner with Lyon County, has announced her candidacy for Assembly District 38.
The current vice-chairman and former chair of the Lyon County Commission is seeking the seat currently held by Robin Titus. In December, Titus announced she would be running for State Senate District 17, currently held by the term-limited James Settelmeyer of Douglas County.
Keller is broker/owner of Priceless Realty in Silver Springs. She is the first vice president of the Fernley Republican women, delegate to the Nevada GOP, and president of the Lyon County Library foundation.
On the county level, she has worked hard to solve problems that were caused by changing economics, growth, and Mother Nature.
On the state level Keller said will be working hard on solving problems that were caused by the state legislators themselves, on both sides of the aisle.
Filing dates for both local and statewide offices is March 7-18. The General Election date next year is Nov. 8. The primary date again changed as it has for several cycles. The primary will be held June 14. Early voting for the primary runs from May 28 and ends June 10. The polls will be closed Memorial Day. Early voting for the General Election runs Oct. 22 through Nov. 4 and the polls will be open Nevada Day.
