Signing their letters of intent to play college football are, from left, Reece Kincaid and Damien Nestlerode, Feather River College, and Xavier Capton, Luther College.
Three Greenwave football players are extending their careers.
Xavier Capton signed a letter of intent to play football at Luther College, a private liberal arts college in Decorah, Iowa. The tight end and linebacker averaged 9.7 tackles per game.
Capton said the NCAA Division III college made him feel very welcomed. After contacting the coach about playing there, the coaches looked at his high school video and liked what they saw. Capton said he was able to visit the college in an area known for agriculture, similar to Fallon. The populations of the two communities are similar.
Reece Kincaid and Damien Nestlerode will be attending Feather River College in Quincy, Calif. Both Fallon players said a draw to the junior college was the connection between FRC and Fallon. Several Fallon players are suiting up for the college.
“I wanted to stay close to home,” Kincaid said.
Kincaid played wide receiver and defensive back. He had 341 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
Both players said it helps with the FRC and Greenwave coaches knowing each other.
“They have a similar program to Fallon’s,” Kincaid said.
Nestlerode, who played on the line on offense and defense, said previous Fallon players have done well at FRC.
