PUBLIC INFORMATION ON A FORMAL AMENDMENT TO THE CARSON AREA METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION (CAMPO) TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (TIP) 

The proposed amendment is to add three new projects and to closeout one project in the Carson Area Metropolitan Planning Organization’s (CAMPO) Federal Fiscal Years 2021-2024 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The amendment revisions include: (1) program $1.1 million in CDS appropriations and $950,000 of local funding for the Appion Way Traffic Signal and Intersection Improvement Project, (2) program $595,266 in Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) funding and $31,330 of local funding of the Western Nevada Safe Routes to School Program, (3) program $950,000 of Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) funding, plus $65,000 of State Gas Tax funding for the Wrong Way Driver Warning Systems Installation, and (4) closeout the completed Center Drive road rehabilitation project. The TIP is a four-year programming document for projects that are federally funded and are of regional significance within the metropolitan planning area. The minimum 14-day public comment period, for review of the proposed TIP amendment, opened on June 18, 2022 and was planned to close on July 2, 2022, however, the comment period has been extended from July 5, 2022 until July 13, 2022 at 3:00pm. Staff is available Monday through Friday (except holidays) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to meet with the public and to answer any questions regarding the TIP. Public comments are encouraged during this time.
