Carson City School District will host a job fair at the district office at 1402 W. King St., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 19 for teaching and substitute teaching positions and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 20 for all other positions.
The district is looking to hire bus drivers, cooks/bakers, paraprofessionals (instructional assistants, classroom aides, English as a Second Language assistants, etc.) custodians, groundskeepers, maintenance workers, substitutes, teachers and more. Positions are open immediately and include entry level, part-time and full-time.
To qualify as a substitute teacher, candidates must have attained a high school diploma. The district is looking for licensed teachers in math, science, special education, elementary education, engineering, culinary arts and instructional coaching. In addition, the district is seeking prospective employees who have a bachelor’s degree in an area other than teaching who might be interested in becoming a licensed teacher through the Alternative Routes to Licensure program in Nevada.
All employees are eligible to receive a financial bonus during the 2022-23 school year. All classified positions are eligible to receive $1,500; custodians and bus drivers are eligible to receive $2,000; special education paraprofessionals are eligible to receive $2,000 and classroom teachers are eligible to receive $1,000.
This is a free event and there will be no registration required for job seekers. It is recommended that interested applicants dress professionally and come to the job fair with extra copies of their resume.
