No more pot shops
Kudos to former City Supervisor Shelly Aldean for her well-researched and well-written column in opposition to the further expansion of the toxic pot business in Carson City.
As Aldean wrote, "The very fact that this matter is back before the Planning Commission is disheartening" because the Board of Supervisors imposed a two-pot-shops limit five years ago, and that's where it should remain.
Aldean quoted a recent study by the Drug Free America Foundation that said "the increased use of pot correlates closely with the rise of self-reported cases of major depressive episodes, mental illness and suicidal thoughts."
Meanwhile, Gov. Sisolak's toothless Cannabis Control Commission is in bed with the corrupt marijuana industry. What else do we need to know? So I urge the Planning Commission, Mayor Lori Bagwell and the supes to just say "No!" to the pot purveyors.
