PUBLIC INFORMATION ON A FORMAL AMENDMENT TO THE
CARSON AREA METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION (CAMPO) TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (TIP)
The proposed amendment is to add three new projects in the Carson Area Metropolitan Planning Organization’s (CAMPO) Federal
Fiscal Years 2021-2024 Transportation Improvement Program
(TIP). The amendment revisions include: (1) program $1 million in Congressionally Designated Spending (CDS) appropriations and $250,000 of local funding for the 2021 Western Nevada Safe Routes
to School (WNSRTS) Vulnerable User Pedestrian Safety Infrastructure Improvement Project, (2) program $1.5 million in CDS appropriations and $375,000 of local funding for the 2022 Western Nevada Safe Routes to School (WNSRTS) Vulnerable User Pedestrian Safety Infrastructure Improvement Project, and (3) program $3,000,000 of anticipated Safe Streets for All federal grant funding, and $750,000 of local funding for the Carson City ‘Safe Streets for All’ Grant Award Project. The TIP is a four-year programming document for projects that are federally funded and are of regional significance within the metropolitan planning area. The minimum 14-day public comment period for review of the proposed TIP amendment opened on July 23, 2022 and will close on August 6, 2022 at 3:00pm. Staff is available Monday through Friday (except holidays) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to meet with the public and to answer any questions regarding the TIP. Public comments are encouraged during this time.
