Should one person decide who our next president should be?
The Electoral Count Act is unclear enough that former President Trump pressured former Vice President Pence to decide by himself who our next president should be. Pence consulted his own lawyers. He told Trump no. He said it is un-American for one person to determine who the next president will be.
Right now, Kamala Harris is our vice president. In 2024 it will be her duty to count the state's certified votes as specified in the Electoral Count Act. Hopefully she will not interpret this law as Trump did, and decide who the next president will be herself.
In 1776 we fought for our right to be represented in our government. Please protect our rights now by supporting bipartisan reform of the Electoral Count Act.
