 The Greenwave baseball team sandwiched a win in between losses to Douglas and North Valleys as it wrapped up the 3A crossover portion of the schedule this weekend.

After a 12-2 loss to the Tigers on Tuesday, its first loss of the year, Fallon got back to winning with a 20-0 blowout victory over Hug on Friday. After both Fallon and North Valleys traded six runs in the first two innings, the Panthers scored in the fifth to break the tie to beat Fallon, 7-6, on Saturday.
Fallon hosts South Tahoe on Friday at 3 p.m. and Truckee at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Fallon got on the board first against Douglas when it scored a run in the second inning before the Tigers answered with two in the bottom half. Douglas also scored three in the following inning but Fallon scored again in the fourth to trail by three. A six-run fourth inning put the game out of reach for Fallon.

Tyler Austin, Bryce Adams, Isaiah Diaz, Steven Moon and James Kelsey each singled for the Greenwave, while Moon and Brady Alves each drove in a run.

Austin started the game on the hill, allowing five runs in two innings while striking out one. Francisco Tapia and Adams combined to pitch the next three innings. Adams struck out five in 1 ⅔ innings.
Fallon rebounded strongly in Friday’s win over Hug, scoring seven runs in the first inning and 13 in the second before it was called in the third.

Cooper Lee and Tapia each tripled twice with Tapia driving in six runs. Thane Hatch and Adams each had two hits, Carter Paul doubled and Tim Spencer tripled. Aiden Gonzalez, Lucas Prinz, Paul and Adams each drove in two.

James Kelsey pitched the first two innings, striking out five, and Moon came in for the final inning to strike out the side.

Against North Valleys, Fallon led by two after the first inning before giving up four in the following inning to only tie the game at six with two more runs in the second.

Damien Towne pitched the first four innings before Austin came in to finish the game.

Kelsey walked with two outs in the first inning to bring home Fallon’s first run and Alves singled in two runs on a 2-1 count to give Fallon a 3-2 lead. Tapia followed with a single to center to score Kelsey.
After the Panthers tied the game in the second off a single to center, Towne recorded a strikeout to put Fallon three strikes away from escaping a jam. A double on the second pitch to right field broke the tie before Towne struck out the next batter.

After Lee singled to open the bottom of the second, Austin tripled to center to score Lee. Austin scored on a passed ball with Baylor Sandberg at the plate to tie the game at six.

After both teams went scoreless in the next two innings, North Valleys opened the fifth inning with a double. Austin struck out the next batter but a wild pitch allowed the Panthers to advance to third before scoring on a single to left field.
