Gov. Steve Sisolak on Monday named Allison Genco to be Nevada’s first public health resource officer.
The position was created during the 2021 Legislature to analyze the state’s existing public health infrastructure and make recommendations to take care of unmet needs and opportunities for federal and private funding. She will also work to improve coordination between providers of public health services.
Genco was most recently with the governor’s health resource team working to support Nevada’s COVID-19 response. Prior to that, she was a reproductive health coordinator for the state.
