The Churchill County Republican Central Committee sold out its annual Lincoln Day Dinner this year at the Fallon Convention Center.
Many of the candidates seeking election for local and state offices attended the event. McAvoy Layne, the voice and face of Mark Twain, entertained the crowd with wisdom gleaned during and after his stay in Nevada in the 1860s.
The evening also featured both a silent and live auction conducted by State Sen. James Settelmeyer that generated money for the CCRCC, and the Fallon Lions Club catered the dinner. Fallon 4-H members helped served the meals to each guest.
