After competing in the Carson Aqua 5 earlier this month, the Greenwave boys and girls swimming team faced a pair of North Reno schools in its first tri-meet of the season at Truckee on March 18.
Fallon next jumps in the pool on Saturday when it takes on South Tahoe at 9 a.m. in Carson.
The Fallon boys defeated North Valleys, 70-29, while the Lady Wave also knocked off North Valleys but in closer fashion with a 98-93 win. The Greenwave, though, still posted times in the forfeited wins over Hug.
The following are times from the tri-meet with placings against North Valleys listed. No placings indicate that the race had no other competitors than Fallon.
In the 200-meter medley, the team of Macray O’Neill, Danner Rowlett, Zachary Koenig and Miles Henning swam unopposed, clocking in at 2 minutes, 17.75 seconds. Koenig swam a 2:08.63 in the uncontested 200 free, while O’Neill finished second in the 50 free at 27.94. Rowlett finished third at 28.77 followed by Henning in sixth at 35.36.
O’Neill won the 100 free in 1:01.57 and Henning was third at 1:21.15. The team of Koenig, O’Neill, Rowlett and Henning swam uncontested in the 200 relay with a time of 1:56.83. Koenig and Rowlett each swam uncontested in the 100 back and 100 breast with times of 1:05.07 and 1:30.54, respectively.

For the girls, the 200 medley relay team of Rebecca Smith, Clau Garcia Barbudo, Evelyn O’Neill and Evelyn Lott finished the race in 2:28.50 for second. Katelen Helton won the 200 free in 2:50.25 followed by Lott in second at 2:50.31. O’Neill swam unopposed in 200 individual medley in 2:45.15, while Darian Brough finished second in the 50 free in 33.35 followed by Garcia Barbudo in third at 35.31 and Jocylyn Miller in fifth at 39.10.
Rebecca Smith finished third in the 100 free in 1:18.28 followed by Miller in fifth at 1:26.81. The 200 relay team of O’Neill, Lott, Helton and Brough swam uncontested in 2:11.48. O’Neill won the 100 back in 1:14.75, followed by Helton in third at 1:25.75 and Brough in fourth at 1:32.64.
Lott took third in the 100 breast in 1:37.10 followed by Garcia Barbudo in fourth at 1:44.2 and Smith in fifth at 1:46.14.
Brough, Garcia Barbudo, Miller and Helton swam uncontested in the 400 relay in 5:35.21.
