The Greenwave baseball team stopped a three-game skid by winning in walkoff fashion.

Fallon, which lost to North Valleys last weekend, fell to South Tahoe, 7-4, on Friday before winning in the final at-bat in the eighth inning over Truckee, 5-4, on Saturday at the Edward Arciniega Athletic Complex.

The Greenwave travels to Fernley on Friday for a 3 p.m. kickoff to the league season. Both teams meet again for a doubleheader on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Fernley.

After tying the game against Truckee in the seventh inning, Fallon added more drama in the extra frame.

Baylor Sandberg singled on a pop fly to center and Steven Moon pinch-ran for the sophomore, swiping second on the first pitch. Isaiah Diaz’s bunt on the next pitch advanced Moon to third, setting up for J Kelsey, who hit the second pitch to shortstop and Moon beat the throw home to end the game.

In the previous inning, Brady Alves singled to third and then advanced to second on an error. A bunt advanced Alves to third and he scored on Cooper Lee’s infield single.

Damien Towne pitched seven innings in a no-decision while Bryce Adams, who struck out the side in the eighth, picked up the win.

Against South Tahoe, Fallon got on the board first when Sandberg’s sacrifice bunt in the first inning drove in one. South Tahoe, though, tied the game in the second on a fielder’s choice against Tyler Austin and then took the lead with two runs in the next inning, which included a bases-loaded walk.

Down 4-1 in the sixth inning with two outs, the Greenwave came back with a pair of runs thanks to an error.

With Diaz at the plate, Fallon executed a double steal with Rolland Grondin swiping third and Isaac Martinez second to put both in scoring position. Diaz popped the 2-2 pitch to shortstop, who committed an error that scored both Grondin and Martinez.

Alves singled to put two on the bases but Moon’s infield groundout halted the scoring.

The Vikings added three more in the seventh, including a two-out bases-loaded walk and two-run single.

Lee, who led Fallon at the plate, going perfect in four at-bats, singled to start the final inning and advanced to second on an error with Austin at the plate. After a strikeout, Sandberg advanced Lee to third on a groundout. Towne walked on a 3-2 pitch with two outs, putting the tying run at the plate in Adams. Lee scored on a passed ball but Adams’ groundout to short ended the game.
