Barnum and Bailey are two dynamic 11-year-old Shepherd/Doberman mix. Originally adopted through CAPS, they have returned because their owners became homeless. Barnum is a big, strong boy with a sweet laid-back attitude. Bailey is an active older gentleman who walks quickly on a leash. He isn’t fond of cats. Both are looking for a home where they can be together. Can you find room in your home and heart to love these guys? Come out and meet them.
Watson here. At last, it is Bark in the Park time and I can hardly wait for Saturday! The day begins with the annual 5K walk/run. Bring your BFF (best furry friend) on a leash and stroll.
The registration fee is only $15 per person or $50 for group of four (no charge for canines!).
Registration is from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. (promptly) at the Churchill County Fairgrounds. The walk/run begins at 9 a.m. The first 100 to cross the finish line will receive a medal.Entrance is free to the Bark in the Park activities, and we have wonderful things to do. Your BFF is welcome and there will be a contest for dogs. Along with various vendors, we will have food trucks, kids’ games, and plenty of raffle items. The raffle is one activity you will not want to miss.
As most of you know, CAPS is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter that has been a staple of our community for 35 years. The past couple of years have been difficult, but the fine folks of Fallon have helped us survive.
Bark in the Park is one of our most important fundraisers, and we hope you will support us by coming out for a walk. Even if you don’t do the 5K walk, come out and visit our vendors, have a bite to eat, and enjoy a dog-friendly activity.
There aren’t a lot of venues that welcome dogs so be sure to come with your buddy. In fact, my folks and I always go around to the booths that have treats for pups. Actually, there will be an ice cream truck and I love ice cream! Maybe my mom will slip me a taste. I’ll see you there.
XOXO
Watson
