The Nevada Department of Transportation board Monday approved a half-dozen pavement projects including overlays on bridge surfaces on I-580 in Carson City and south Washoe County.
A spokesman said the projects are necessary to preserve the road and bridge surfaces.
In addition, a traffic signal and detention basin will be installed at U.S. 50 and Warrior Way on the east shore of Lake Tahoe.
Repavement projects around the state include 12 miles of I-80 between Winnemucca and the Golconda Interchange in Humboldt County and 16 miles of U.S. 95 south of Goldfield along with 12 miles of U.S. 6 between the Nevada-California line and State Route 360 in Nye and Esmeralda counties. Also in that area is the project to seal aging pavement on U.S. 6 and SR 361.
Finally, crews will patch and seal State Route 260 north of Winnemucca.
