A brief statement about your platform
The unrest and distrust of the public in government especially concerning elections and
public education is at an all-time high. School board members and country clerks around the nation have become the targets for this distrust and anger in the last two years. As Carson City Clerk-Recorder, I can use my experiences from both the public and private sector to continue the integrity, safety, and trust that has been established by the past clerks while moving the office forward during these challenging times.
What makes you the most qualified candidate for this position?
The experiences and leadership roles that I have had in the past in the public and private sector have made me the most qualified candidate for this position. With my school board and commissions service, I have worked with government financing/budgeting, contract review, employee group negotiating, public speaking, creating and giving presentations, working within state and federal laws and regulations and acquiring great knowledge of the Nevada Open Meeting law. I worked in casino marketing for over 12 years ending my career as General Manager of the Horseshoe Casino in Carson City. I managed over 75 employees in over eight departments. I gained valuable experience in marketing, customer relationships, working within Nevada gaming rules and regulations along with federal and state laws, effective management, fiscal responsibility and leadership skills. The last 14 years, I have been a small business owner with my late husband, David’s handyman business. And as for any small business owner, the last few years have been very stressful especially with COVID. But I did learn flexibility, resilience and empathy. I was born and raised in Carson City, as were my children and now my grandson. I have always strived to make this community, Carson City, a better place to work and live for everyone. I love Carson City and am proud to call it home. I am conscientious, fiscally responsible, strive to use common sense decision making, have strong leadership skills and work well with the public and staff. I’m asking you to vote for Stacie Wilke-McCulloch as your next Clerk-Recorder.
