Briefly describe the core duties of the position you are running for: The Nevada State treasurer is the chief financial officer of the state and is tasked with auditing the budget, investing the state portfolio, holding custody and returning unclaimed property, and the disbursement of state funds. The Treasurer also receives a number of bill drafts to submit to the Nevada Legislature.
A brief statement about your platform:
Inflation is out of control, everyday expenses like a gallon of gas or a gallon of milk are skyrocketing, hurting everyday Nevadans. Meanwhile our government spends our money like a drunken sailor. I plan to bring fiscal responsibility to the State Treasurer’s office. We need to cut the red tape and get our business back in action. We need to conduct a full and comprehensive audit of the state’s finances, and end the wasteful spending. We need to create opportunities for our students and businesses in this state. Free market principles and low taxes is what has and will make Nevada prosper.
What makes you the most qualified candidate for this position?
I’ve been fighting for free market principles and pro-growth polices for over a decade publicly, I’ve owned businesses, and have have personally hired and managed 2000 Nevada workers. While in the Nevada Assembly, I helped balance our Nevada State budgets and as a Councilmember; the City of Las Vegas budgets. I was the CEO of several companies in Nevada. Having both private sector experience as a business owner and government experience makes me the right person to run the Nevada Treasurer’s office.

Record of service: Midshipman USNA 1997-1998
Education: One year United States Naval Academy (Left due to family tragedy)
Briefly describe the core duties of the position you are running for:
The Treasurer of the State of Nevada manages the state’s investment portfolios, along with overseeing the Millennium Scholarship and college savings program. While also serving on the State Board of Finance, College Saving Plans of Nevada, and State Audit Committee.
A brief statement about your platform:
For Nevada to be the best, we have to learn from other state's mistakes. Manny will always advocate for a better business climate that the best and brightest minds want to be a part of. We have to bring businesses to the table and include them in the discussion rather than adding more regulations and hurdles that deter innovation.
Nevada ranks 49th out of 50 in education. This prevents both a skilled labor workforce and innovative businesses from relocating to Nevada. Business's and laborers are both looking for a quality education for their children as much as they are a sound business climate. As State Treasurer, Manny will grow the tax-advantaged ‘College Savings Accounts’ program, giving more Nevada families access to higher education
Manny would serve above and beyond just his duties as Treasurer. He would also look to serve on the boards of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, the board of Governor’s Office of Economic Development, and work with local chambers throughout Nevada to understand the challenges they face. Manny's aim is to have a long-term strategy in place as opposed to short, simple fixes.
What makes you the most qualified candidate for this position:
I am a successful businessman who has seen firsthand how out of control government can destroy business. That experience and the lessons I learned from it, helped me build one of the largest hospitality companies in the state and as a businessperson who has created jobs in Nevada, I know how to balance a budget, make a dollar stretch, and provide the transparency our taxpayers deserve.
