VFW anniversary
The Lawton-Silva Post 1001 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars is celebrating its 100th year anniversary on Nov. 19 at its hall on 405 S. Maine St.
Since 1922, the local VFW chapter has provided a century of service to Fallon and the Lahontan Valley community.
The free opening ceremony begins at 2 p.m.
Included in the afternoon’s celebration are a carnival, food for purchase, an auction, raffle and historical exhibits.
Toys for Tots golf
The Fallon Toys for Tots drive is gearing up to provide children in the Northern Nevada Community with many gifts for the holidays.
Knowing the challenges our local business community has faced in the past year, the Fallon Toys for Tots is requesting some assistance to provide every request received for toys with 100% fulfillment.
A sponsorship will assist the toy drive by allowing the purchase of big toy requests (doll houses, bikes, roller blades, etc.) and by getting your name out to the community and on our banner displayed at the golf course.
Sponsors include Platinum ($1,200), Gold ($600), Silver ($400), Large Logo ($350) and Small Logo ($150).
A raffle prize donation from your business will assist the Toys for Tots program to yield a larger presence from the community by joining us on Nov. 5 at the Fallon Golf Course. Donors will be noted in local and social media of the tournament. Any pictures of the winners are free for your business to use in its own promotional material.
Raffle prizes are due by Nov. 3.
