9:22 p.m.
The Nevada Secretary of State's Office says "polls are closing across the state" and "we will be posting results shortly."
9:16 p.m.
Las Vegas and Washoe County have both said they will not be done counting mail-in ballots until Thursday. Upon that, the Nevada State Democratic Party released this statement tonight:
"Upon learning that election officials may not have the people power to count all of the 2022 Election hand-delivered paper ballots before Thursday, November 10, Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Judith Whitmer released the following statement:
“It’s unfortunate but understandable that we won’t be able to get complete election results tonight,” said Chair Whitmer. “This is the first major election year that Nevada has mailed paper ballots to every voter, and lots of people chose to vote using those ballots; it’s simply going to take a lot of human power to get those votes tallied, and the elections office is understaffed. Here at NV Dems Headquarters, we’re going to wait as patiently as we can to get the real numbers, and we hope our opponents do the same.”
7:40 p.m.
From the Associated Press: Officials in a rural Nevada county say they will not proceed with hand counting early mail-in votes before polls close on Election Day.
Republican Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske ordered Nye County in late October to halt its hand-counting of ballots until after polls close on Nov. 8. Her order came after the Nevada Supreme Court issued an opinion siding with the American Civil Liberties Union’s objections to the reading of individual votes out loud.
Still, Nye County submitted a revised plan for a silent hand-count last week in hopes of remedying the court’s concerns and being able to continue the count. Cegavske said Friday that the plan needed more details for it to be approved and declined to lift the hand-count ban, leading to Nye County’s announcement on Sunday that it would wait until Election Day.
The county received 10,583 mail ballots as of Friday.
Nye County is one of the first jurisdictions nationwide to act on election conspiracies related to mistrust in voting machines, though other counties across Nevada have considered using hand-counts in the future.

Carson City polls close at 7 p.m. Results from Carson City are expected after 11 p.m. We will update when we know more.
A little information about "none of the above."
Nevada is the only state in the nation that since 1976 has given voters the option to vote for "none" in races decided by voters statewide - president, U.S. Senate, state constitutional officers and state Supreme Court. It was enacted as a way to combat voter apathy after the Watergate scandal that brought down President Richard Nixon - and give voters a way to register disdain for the political environment.
Under Nevada law, "none" can never win even if it receives the most votes, though it never has in a general election contest. Victory is reserved for people, though "none" before has played a role in determining the winner in some high-profile races. In 1998, Democratic U.S. Sen. Harry Reid defeated then Republican Rep. John Ensign by 428 votes, but more than 8,000 voters rejected both men and opted for "none."
4:45 p.m.

As of Nov. 1, there were 41,862 active voters in Carson City. Of those, 16,179 were registered Republicans. Non-partisan voters were 11,410, with Democratic voters at 10,994.
In Lyon County, there are 48,105 active voters. In Storey County, there are 3,887 voters.
In Douglas, there are 44,532 voters. There are more than 1.5 million voters in Clark County. In Washoe County, there are 348,724 voters, according to the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office.

Non-partisan voters are now the second largest block of voters in Nevada.
October registration numbers show Republicans have fallen to third place on the list of total registered voters. According to September statistics released by the Secretary of State’s office, there are now 651,751 voters listing no political party compared with 640,416 Republicans among total registered voters.
Democrats still lead in total registration in Nevada with 721,457 registered voters.
When just the “active” registered voters are counted, Republicans are still ahead of the non-partisan voters at 542,761 compared to 530,893 non-partisans.
But inactive voters can still show up and cast their ballots after affirming their address and identity.
Democrats have 592,903 active voters on the rolls.
Election officials say the number of non-partisan voters has been growing steadily and significantly faster than either Republicans or Democrats for several years now
