Brin Gibson has resigned as chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Board member Brittnie Watkins will take over as chair of the three-member panel that manages gaming regulation in Nevada.

Gibson has chaired the board for two years. The announcement says he is pursuing a new professional opportunity when he leaves at the end of this month.

Gibson formerly served as Gov. Steve Sisolak’s general counsel before his appointment to the gaming board. Before that, he was first assistant attorney general and chief of the gaming division.
