The Fallon Trail Life Troop 1231 presented the Fallon Police Department and the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office with a respectful salute, a tray of treats made by the members and a thank you for the many officers, deputies, dispatchers and staff who keep our community safe.

“A part of the Trail Life motto states that we respect authority,” said troop master Ken Catlin. “We teach the boys to take authority very seriously and to appreciate and honor those whom God has placed over us.”

The local troop currently has more than 20 boys participating. It is open to school-aged boys from kindergarten through high school. Trail Life teaches respect, leadership, outdoor skills, citizenship and patriotism, family values and more under the authority of the Christian church.

First Southern Baptist Church of Fallon sponsors the Fallon Trail Life Troop.

“We are blessed to be able to give these young men an opportunity to grow and be challenged physically, mentally and spiritually in a well rounded program that honors our Lord Jesus Christ,” said Pastor and Troop Ministry Liaison Sam Stanton.

FBSC also sponsors a girls program called Girls in Action, which also runs concurrently with the boys’ meeting.
