Why are you running?
I am running for Fallon City Council to help serve the people of Fallon and represent Ward 3 as someone who is willing to listen and make decisions based on fact. I feel that with an open line of communication I can help the Mayor and Council with making sound decisions to continue to make this city safe and a proud place to call home.
Briefly describe the core duties of the position you are running for
The Fallon City Council is a legislative body that sets broad policy that benefits the people they serve. The Council also passes ordinances for the welfare and public safety of the citizens they serve and have general oversight of the affairs of the city trying to improve the quality of life for all.
A brief statement about your platform
As a 26-year employee of the Nevada Department of Transportation, I have vast experience in highway and road maintenance. I believe I can bring some proactive ideas and strategies to the city that will assist in maintaining the streets and roads in our area. I have spent many seasons participating in youth programs in the city and know how vital these programs are to our town. I would like to assist the city in the continued success of these programs by making sure that the city owned ball fields, gymnasiums, pools, and parks are a safe and friendly environment where families can enjoy watching kids participate and thrive. Helping continue the city’s heavy involvement with the senior community is a high priority of mine.
What makes you the most qualified candidate for this position?
I will be available to attend all meetings and events required, and I will be supportive of all community functions and activities. I will be retiring from State service in August of 2024, but until that time I have the full support of my leadership group to do what is necessary to serve the citizens of Fallon.
