Carson High girls’ soccer performs well in Tahoe

Golf, volleyball and cross country results from the weekend

 The Senator girls soccer team went 2-0-1 at the South Lake Tahoe tournament over the weekend.
Carson posted a 1-0 win over Truckee before besting South Tahoe, 2-1.
Paris Robbins scored the game-winning goal against Truckee off an assist from Monse Iza.
Against the Vikings, Alyssa Tomita and Addison Morgan each tallied a goal.
Carson also tied Galena, 0-0.

Carson High girls’ golf takes third at Eagle Valley East
The Senator girls’ golf team got the season underway last week with a third-place finish at Eagle Valley East in Carson.
At the top of the scoresheet were Jaime McGee and Madeline Silsby with matching rounds of 94.
Rhianna Redwine posted a 97 while Ellah Olson entered the clubhouse with a 101.
Madeline Roberts and Kylee Wentz rounded out the Senators’ scoring with tallies of 103 and 112, respectively.


Carson High volleyball goes 7-1 at weekend tournament
With eight contests over two days, the Senator volleyball team is quickly showing its improvement this fall.
Sarah Miller leads the team thus far with 26 kills while Riley Kolsch has 24 aces.
Kolsch also leads the team in assists with 47.

Falcon harriers run at Spanish Springs
On Aug. 26, the Sierra Lutheran High School cross country team attended the third annual Spanish Springs Dirty Dozen Relay, at Golden Eagle Regional Sports Complex in Sparks.
Sierra Lutheran produced two teams, one team of four runners and one team of three runners. Each team ran a total of 12 miles, mainly through desert dirt. There were a total of six legs and each leg was two miles in length.
Sierra Lutheran’s first team had a total time of 1:43:47; Saige Gregory ran (1) at 15:13 and (5) at 15:16; Anton Granata ran (2) at 15:30 and (6) at 14:48; Cameron Bourne ran (3) at 21:18; and Christi Kennedy ran (4) at 21:18.
Sierra Lutheran’s second team had a total time of 1:31:20; Chandler Ricks ran (1) 13:57 and (4) at 15:43; Gunnison Marr ran (2) at 15:23 and (5) at 17:59; and Max Woelfel ran (3) at 12:28 and (6) at 14:06.


Dayton volleyball tops South Tahoe
Dayton High volleyball swept South Tahoe on Monday evening by a final of 25-15, 25-20, 25-18.
Penny-Laine Vaelua lead Dayton in assists with eight while Kassandra Miller had seven assists.
Miller led the Dust Devils in kills with five while Ayisha Agee and Riley Glynn each had four.
Glynn also had 11 digs. Laine Vaelua posted five aces.
Over the weekend, Dayton bested Galena, Yerington and Elko in the Yerington tournament before falling to Carson in the semifinals.
