North Valleys boys’ soccer tops Carson Wednesday evening, Carson High boys’ soccer fell to another tough Northern Nevada foe in North Valleys by a final of 3-0. All three of the Panthers’ goals came from senior Jesse Dominguez. UP NEXT: Carson (1-2, 0-2 in league) has a week off before traveling to Sparks to take on Spanish Springs (0-2-1, 0-2-1) Wednesday. Carson volleyball swept by Spanish Springs Spanish Springs swept the Carson High girls’ volleyball team in straight sets Tuesday night, 3-0. All three sets were tight – 26-24, 25-21, 25-22 – but the Senators’ couldn’t take one. Senior Anna Turner led Carson with nine kills while Abigail Frano and Sarah Miller each posted four. Ava Kordonowy led the Senators with four aces and six digs while Turner added three blocks. Riley Kolsch had 10 assists for Carson in the loss while Madelyn Monson posted seven of her own. Carson girls’ tennis bested by Bishop Manogue The Senators were able to win two matches against the Miners on Tuesday, but ultimately fell 16-2. The two wins came in doubles matches with Dahlia Keating-McEllistrem and Ava Schofield delivering one win, 6-0. Laura Bennett and Meryl Johnson escaped with a 7-6 win in a No. 2 doubles match. Carson boys’ tennis loses to Bishop Manogue The Miners of Bishop Manogue bested Carson High boys’ tennis Tuesday afternoon, 17-1. McQueen defeats Dayton boys’ soccer The Dust Devil boys’ soccer team fell to McQueen on Thursday by an 11-0 final. Dayton is 0-6 to start the season. Dayton volleyball sweeps Sparks With a 25-13, 25-10, 25-8 win over Sparks on Wednesday, the Dayton High girls volleyball team moved to 12-3 overall on the year. UP NEXT: The Dust Devils next scheduled contest is set for this coming Wednesday at Truckee (0-1). Sierra Lutheran volleyball edges Eureka The Falcons won the first and third sets against Eureka last Saturday, putting together a 2-1 win against the Vandals. Jade Chapman, Samantha Steyn and Mikeala Christenson each had five kills for Sierra Lutheran in the win. Christenson added two aces and a block. Remmi Cummings had a team-high six digs for the Falcons and Chapman passed out nine assists. UP NEXT: Sierra Lutheran (2-2) gets some time off before traveling to Fallon next Friday to take on Oasis Academy (1-4).
