CHS boys soccer gets draw with Galena
The Senator boys soccer team got an early lead, but couldn’t hold off the Grizzlies in Carson on Wednesday.
Miguel Vargas gave the Senators a 1-0 lead just before intermission.
Trigo Burciaga scored the Senators’ second goal, on a rebound off the Galena keeper. The Grizzlies scored the game-tying goal quickly after Carson’s second tally.
UP NEXT: Carson (1-3-2, 0-3-2 in league) is back in action on its home field Monday night for a 6:45 p.m. kickoff against Reed (2-3, 2-3).
Senator girls soccer wins third straight
The Carson High girls soccer team is climbing the league standings with its third straight win in Class 5A North play.
The Senators beat McQueen, 1-0, on Thursday.
Addy Morgan scored for Carson just before intermission.
Tuesday, the Senators won at Bishop Manogue, 2-1.
Alyssa Tomita deposited her fourth goal of the year while Andrea Manriquez had the game winner.
The Senators are tied for fourth place in the Class 5A North with 10 points (three wins and a draw).
UP NEXT: Carson (5-2-2, 3-2-1) will look to get the upper hand on Douglas (5-4-1, 3-2-1) this morning at home. The Senators and the Tigers are tied in the standings.
Carson High girls tennis loses at Reno
The Reno Huskies were the better team Thursday, besting Carson, 13-5.
The Senators were able to pick up four wins on the singles court with three coming courtesy of Meryl Johnson (6-0, 6-4, 6-4) while Ashleigh Naranjo snagged one as well (6-2).
In the doubles lineup, Ava Schofield and Dahlia Keating-McEllistrem won the lone set, 6-2.
UP NEXT: Carson (3-3-1) will take on Douglas (2-3) on Tuesday in Minden at 2 p.m.
