U.S. Sen. Jacky Rosen, D-Nev., announced Wednesday she will seek re-election in 2024.
Rosen said she “pledges to continue working to lower costs, defend abortion rights, tackle climate change, and protect Social Security and Medicare,” a news release said.
“I’ve worked with both parties to solve problems and always focused on making a difference in people’s lives,” Rosen said. “But we still have big problems to solve – lowering costs for the middle class, defending abortion rights, tackling the climate crisis, protecting Social Security and Medicare. With so many important fights ahead, I’m proud to officially launch my re-election campaign today.”
Rosen sits on the Senate Committee on Armed Services, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, and the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. She serves as the chair of the Subcommittee on Tourism, Trade, and Export Promotion.
Rosen grew up in a working class family as the granddaughter of immigrants and the daughter of a World War II veteran. She is the first in her family to graduate from college. She served for three years as president of Congregation Ner Tamid in Henderson, the largest Reform synagogue in the state. She is the first former synagogue president elected to the Senate.
She was elected to Congress in 2016. In 2018, she was elected to Senate.
