The Fallon City Council established at a recent meeting the annual mobile vendor licensing fee, annexed a land parcel and heard the Fallon Police Department’s February activity report.
All approvals were by a 2-0 vote as Councilman Paul Harmon was absent. No public comment or modifications from staff or council were received.
Following the March 21 adoption of an ordinance that created license requirements and operation regulations for mobile food vendors operating within the city limits, the annual mobile vendor license fee was established as $100.
A land parcel of about 0.54 acres located at 575 Babb Place was approved for annexation and zoned as R-1 Single Family Residence District. The owners, HSKS, LLC, are required to fund the installation of one street light and replace identified substandard sections of the sidewalk that runs along the front of the parcel on Babb Place.
Police Chief Ron Wenger presented the February activity report for the Fallon Police Department. The total number of calls for the month was 601, down by 35 from the same month last year. There were 55 total arrests — six felony, four gross misdemeanor, 14 misdemeanor and 21 juvenile.
Eight theft reports were taken for stolen items including a credit card, two cell phones, a generator, two gas cans, a backpack containing school supplies, a package and a tablet.
Volunteers in Police Service completed 116.25 hours of service with Helping Hands, training and chaplain services.
Special detail duties included officers providing traffic control for two fountain dye events on Maine Street, escorting the CCHS wrestling team to the state competition, speaking to the Cub Scouts about police work and visiting two local day cares.
