Track: Personal bests highlight Carson Invitational

The Greenwave track and field team competed in last weekend’s Carson Invitational.

Fallon finished ninth in the boys division and 14th in the girls division on Saturday, and 10th in the JV boys division on Friday.

The following results are top-10 finishes, and season and personal bests from the Greenwave.


Sprints

Junior Max McCoy finished second in the 200-meter in 23.86 seconds, a personal best, while sophomore Tyson Wilson ran a personal best 12.46 in the 100.

Senior Madix Wehe ran a personal best 15.13 in the 100, and sophomore Jacquelinne Vilchiz-Mondragon ran a personal best 33.59 in the 200. Wehe placed seventh in the 400 after running a personal best 1:10.43.

In the JV boys division, freshmen Bransyn Wright (12.57), Cohen Wright (13.24) and Dax McCourtney (13.50) and sophomore Brody Hughes (13.41) had personal bests in the 100. Sophomore Edwin Ugalde (25.49), McCourtney (27.74) and freshman Joe Dahl (28.96) had personal bests in the 200. In the 400, Ugalde finished third with a personal best of 55.55, and freshman Wyatt Dixon ran a personal best 1:03.88 as did Hughes in 1:09.98.

In the JV girls, freshman Jenna Steffens and sophomore Matison Parmenter had personal bests of 15.21 and 15.83 in the 100. Parmenter also ran a personal best 1:19.22 in the 400.


Distance

Senior Yahir Ugalde ran a personal best 2:21.03 in the 800. In the JV boys, sophomores Henry Vergara and Manuel DeSantiago had personal best times of 5:58.59 and 6:09.7 in the 1600.


Hurdles

Senior William Brim-Klein finished sixth in the 300 hurdles in 44.56.


Relays

The 4x800 team of Ugalde and Brim-Klein and sophomores Uriel Romero-Montes and Edwin Ugalde finished second in 9:14.38. The 4x400 team of Brim-Klein, Edwin Ugalde, Yahir Ugalde and freshman Wyatt Dixon finished fifth in 3:54.97. The 4x200 team of McCoy, Wilson, Edwin Ugalde and junior Jaiden McFadden finished eighth in 1:37.66.

The girls 4x100 team of Wehe, Vilchiz-Mondragon, junior Brienna McArthur and Steffens finished eighth in 58.43.

The JV boys 4x400 team of freshmen Maximillion Dahl, Barry Mitchell, Joe Dahl and Dixon finished in 4:26.85.


Throws

McArthur threw a personal best 24 feet, 7 inches in the shot put.

In the JV boys, sophomore Alec Lecker threw a personal best 29-11 in the shot put and freshman Justin McArthur also had a personal best of 28-9. Freshman Ashton McCourtney threw a personal best 58-3 in the discus.

In the JV girls, Steffens had a personal best mark of 22-2 in the shot put.


Jumps

Junior Jessalyn Lewis finished third in the triple jump at 30-9.75 and ninth in the long at 13-11.75, both season bests.

In the JV boys, Bransyn Wright finished fifth in the high jump with a personal best of 5-4. Wilson finished third in the long jump at 18-6, a personal best, and McCourtney, junior Kaeden Simpson and sophomore Jesse Garcia had personal best marks of 15-5.5, 15-4.5 and 10-10. Bransyn Wright finished first in the triple jump with a personal best of 38-5.


Pole vault

Junior Isaiah Dart finished fifth in the pole vault at 8-6, followed by Cohen Wright and Maximillion Dahl in ninth at 8 feet. All jumps were personal bests.
