Highway from Yerington to Mason to see closures Tuesday

Drivers are advised to plan alternate routes as State Route 339 is closed in Yerington and Mason Aug. 29 for a residential home move.

Sections of SR 339 will temporarily be closed between West Bridge Street in Yerington and the State Route 208 intersection south of Mason beginning at 7 a.m. Aug. 29 as an oversize residential home is moved down the roadway. The closures are anticipated to carry through afternoon hours.

Drivers are advised to plan alternate routes and avoid the area if possible.

Those needing to access residences and businesses on this section of SR 339 should plan for additional travel time, and may be routed to local detours as the oversize load moves down the highway.

Through traffic will be able to use State Route 208 as a nearby detour route.

The schedule is subject to change.

The 50-foot wide residential home will be moved by a private contractor, permitted through NDOT’s overdimensional vehicle permit process which regulates safe and appropriate travel for vehicle loads exceeding 80,000 pounds gross weight.
