Two people were arrested in Carson City on Aug. 25 as the result of a drug and endangered child investigation conducted by the Nevada State Police, Tri-NET Narcotic Task Force, with the assistance of the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.
On Aug. 25, Tyler Amirr, 28, and Sabrina Welch, 24, were contacted during a traffic stop on North Carson Street along with two juveniles. Amirr was arrested for an active misdemeanor warrant. During the course of the traffic stop, illegal drugs (methamphetamine and fentanyl) and drug paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle and around items used by the juveniles, according to a news release by the Nevada State Police.
Tri-NET detectives were able to obtain a search warrant for the suspects’ residence on College Parkway. Inside the residence detectives located multiple items of drug paraphernalia and illegal drugs (methamphetamine and fentanyl), some of which were within reach of the juveniles who lived there.
Amirr and Welch were arrested on suspicion of felony child abuse/neglect with bail set at $40,000, possession of a controlled substance with a bail set at $2,500 and possession of drug paraphernalia with a bail set at $1,000.
Tri-NET Narcotic Task Force is comprised of members of the Nevada State Police, Investigation Division, Carson City Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Nevada Counterdrug Program.
