Virginia City will host its annual Christmas celebration, Christmas on the Comstock throughout the month of December.
The celebration will feature several events such as historic train rides, craft fairs, photos with Father Christmas, the Parade of Lights, a fireworks display and more.
A few of the highlights:
• Holiday decorating contest: The merchants and restaurants are competing for the title of best decorations through Dec. 24.
• The Grinch Made Me Do It Saloon Crawl: Takes place from 1-5 p.m. Saturday. For tickets, visit https://visitvirginiacitynv.com/events/grinch-made-me-do-it-saloon-crawl/.
• Parade of Lights and fireworks show: Enjoy the parade and stick around for fireworks and hot cocoa on Saturday, Dec. 2 and Dec. 9 starting at 5 p.m.

• St. Mary’s Art Center 9th annual holiday faire: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The faire will feature more than 20 local and regional artists and makers sharing and selling their creations in a decorated music-filled space. • Piper’s Players Mark Twain and Friends Holiday Spectacular at Piper’s Opera House:
