The Greenwave wrestling team opened the season with the annual Earl Wilkins Memorial Tournament on Saturday at the Rafter 3C Arena.

Fallon fielded two teams – Green and White – in the single-day tournament with the Green team finishing 4-1-1.

Fallon will be in Winnemucca and Las Vegas this weekend with the varsity squad traveling to the two-day Shadow Ridge tournament. The JV team will compete in a tournament in Winnemucca.

In Saturday’s duals tournament, Fallon defeated McQueen, 76-0; Yerington, 59-23; Hug, 84-0; and Carson, 40-35, before tying Douglas at 36. Fallon’s lone loss was to Spanish Springs’ Purple team, 59-12.

Neal McIntyre (120 pounds) finished undefeated in four contested bouts to lead the Greenwave while Manuel Barros (106) and Carson Melendy (144) each finished 4-1. Andre Green (126), Lonnie Adams (132), Jaiden McFadden (138) and Quentin Hornbeack (175) each finished 4-2, and Maximillion Dahl and Tyson Wilson (215) each posted a 3-2 record. Andrew Douglas (150), Caden McKnight (157), Colton Blankenship (190) each ended the day with 3-3 records, and Macray O’Neill (165) posted a 2-2 record. Sean Reeder (285) finished winless in four matches.

Fallon’s White team finished 1-4 with its lone win coming against Truckee, 42-33. Fallon lost to Spanish Springs’ Black team, 68-8; Fernley Black, 72-12; Galena, 42-27; and Carson, 64-18.

Adriel Davis (150) and Ashton McCourntey (190) each won their only match.

Evan Garcia (126) and Wyatt Lambert (144) each finished 2-3, while Troy Shelton (175) and Avery DeAloia (190) each finished 1-1. Kolby McFadden (150) and Kacin Rogne (175) each finished 1-2, Jason Lewis (190) ended the day 1-3 and Nathaniel Zackery (132) was 1-4.

Lacee Stoddard (120), Tommie Fitzer (138), Manuel Karaway (165), Rolland Grondin (165), and Carlos Valenzuela (190) each finished winless.
