Mile High Jazz Band presents ‘It’s a Wrap’ Tuesday

"It's a Wrap,” an evening of big-band jazz and poetry will be Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at Gina's Good Life Music & Lounge, inside the Carson Nugget.

The music is free; donations are welcome. "It's a Wrap” features the 17-member band playing swinging songs on the theme of the evening. Poets and readers are Rita Geil, Terri Breeden, Wayne Carlson, Krista Lukas, Nancy McLelland, and Timothy Rhodes.

Each poem relates to the theme, is open to several interpretations, and is followed by a related tune. Several tunes feature Ford.

Mile High Jazz Band performs at Gina's on the second Tuesday of each month. However, the first performance in 2024 will be Jan. 16.

Mile High Jazz Band performances and educational activities are supported in part by private donations and memberships, and by a grant from the Nevada Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts.
