Looking for a change, Autumn Stewart decided to join Pioneer Academy halfway through her 10th grade year. She is currently on track to satisfy her graduation requirements a semester early and is planning to take a short break from school before joining the military to follow her goal and lifelong ambition to go into nursing. With an ambition to help and care for people and desire to see and experience new places and cultures, Stewart is hoping the U.S. Air force will provide her with that opportunity.
Stewart’s care for people is displayed daily on the Pioneer campus. As one of the office aides for the school, she is the warm and inviting face that greets guests with a smile and assists them while making them feel welcomed. Her view of helping people feel welcomed and comforted was strengthened when she transferred to Pioneer and she is thankful for the opportunity to achieve her goals and be successful. She stated, “Pioneer has been absolutely amazing in helping me achieve my goals. They gave me a second chance and provided me with a supportive and nurturing environment where I could thrive. One thing that has made a huge difference is the personalized attention I receive from the teachers. They truly care about my progress and take the time to provide one-on-one guidance and support. This individualized approach has helped me tremendously in understanding the subject matter and reaching my full potential. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunities and the support that Pioneer has given me. It has made all the difference in my journey towards accomplishing my goals.”
As a student seeking to always improve herself, Stewart believes perseverance and her determination to succeed, and not give up, are her keys to success. She said the last couple of years taught her to not get discouraged and to focus on solutions to challenges and continue to push forward towards her goals. Stewart said she knows her efforts will pay off with the confidence in believing in herself and staying determined.
When asked who she credits with helping her achieve her goals, she had difficulty only because there were so many specific people she could call out.
“I believe that success is not solely attributed to one person but rather a collective effort of various individuals who have supported and guided me along the way," she said. "Throughout my journey, there have been mentors, teachers and family members who have played a significant role in shaping my path to success. They have provided valuable advice, encouragement, and guidance, which have helped me develop my skills and navigate challenges. Their belief in me and constant support has been instrumental in my achievements. I am truly grateful for the influence and inspiration of these wonderful people in my life.”
The Pioneer family has appreciated the hard work and determination Stewart has put in to her education and believes they put her on a trajectory toward success. We will miss her warm smiles and look forward to hearing about her next adventures.
