Vertical construction in front of the Tractor Supply Co. off East William Street is for a new RNR Tire Express, the business owner told the Appeal on Wednesday.
“I am the local independent owner/operator of the RNR Tire Express store in Reno, and I am thrilled that we’ll be able to open our second location in Carson City in spring 2024,” Jonas Grant said by email. “RNR Tire Express is a national franchise retailer of safe, quality tires and custom wheels with flexible payment options that our customers appreciate in these inflationary times, and we also offer alignments, brakes and lift kits.”
Established in 2000 in Florida, RNR has more than 190 locations across the U.S., Grant said.
“The Carson City location will be the second location in Nevada, and I intend to open at least one more location in Northern Nevada in the next two years,” he said. “The original plan was to have all three locations open by now, but COVID-19 — as well as the lack of any suitable locations in Carson City necessitating a ground-up build — delayed the opening of the Carson City store; but I think the location accessible to Carson City and residents of the underserved areas east of the 580, along with the state-of-the-art six-auto bay building and equipment, make it worth the wait.”
The Reno location opened in summer of 2019, Grant said, and has already attracted customers from across the region.
“We already have customers in Carson City, Mound House, Dayton and Fallon that come to us in Reno for our payment options, but now they won’t have to drive as far, and a new group of customers will get to know us as well.”
