Carson High School wrestling took fourth place at the Cody Louk Invitational over the weekend, finishing the tournament with 155 points.
Lowry, Douglas and Spring Creek finished in front of the Senators in the 26-team field.
At 106 pounds, Jesse Oliva stood on top of the podium by the day’s end after going 2-0 with both wins by decision.
On the other end of the weight classes, Dominic Porter also won his heavyweight bracket, picking up five wins to do so.
Porter won all five of his matches by fall within the first two-minute period.
Jett Rupert was third at 138 pounds, wrestling his way back after a first round loss by pin.
Rupert won his next five matches by fall to take third place.
AJ Marhevka (157 pounds), JT Heaton (165) and Angel Vega (144) all took fourth place.
Marhevka dropped his first match by decision, but rallied with five straight wins – three by decision, two by fall – to get into the third place match.
Heaton used two pins to get into the quarterfinal, but a loss put the junior into consolation rounds where he didn’t lose again until his final match of the day.
Vega started his day with two wins by pin before losing by fall in the quarters as well.
The Senator wrestler bounced back with two wins by pin and a win by decision to get into the third place match where he fell via the pin.
Senator girls fall to unbeaten Pershing County
Pershing County was able to get around Carson High girls basketball thanks to a double-digit lead in the first half.
Carson rallied a bit in the second half Saturday, but ultimately fell 47-34.

UP NEXT: Carson (3-3, 0-1) will get its second Class 4A North league test against Spanish Springs (4-3, 2-0) on Thursday. That game will be at Carson High and is expected to start at 5:15 p.m.
Sierra Lutheran boys drop two games
The Falcon boys basketball team couldn’t keep pace with Spring Creek or South Tahoe this weekend, dropping both contests.
Friday, Spring Creek bested Sierra Lutheran 69-24 after jumping out to a double-digit lead in the first quarter.
Saturday, South Tahoe was also able to jump out to a big lead, resulting in a 57-38 win for the Vikings.
Stats were unavailable for either contest.
