Needing to sweep its final weekend of games to make the playoffs, the Oasis Academy basketball teams fell short.
The Bighorns boys team finished the season with a 9-10 overall record, including 2-6 in the 1A West.
The boys team lost to Sage Ridge, 56-28, on Friday in Reno before defeating Excel Christian, 44-32, in Sparks on Saturday.
Four players scored in the loss to Sage Ridge with sophomore Fenn Mackedon leading the team with 13 points and freshman Matthew Bird adding 11. Freshman AlexZander Sheldon-Davis and Trevor Barrenchea each scored two points.
In Saturday’s win, Mackedon led the team with 15 points and Barrenchea added 10. Senior Aaron Housel scored eight points, senior Casamaro White and freshman Hunter Adams each had three, and Bird added two.
The Lady Bighorns lost to Sage Ridge on Friday, 62-25.
