Shelby deBraga, a Fallon author and illustrator, has released a free children’s eBook, “Bennie the Bear – Friends of the Forest.”
deBraga is launching the book for free for five days, until Jan. 20, to share with young adventurers ages 2-8 years old and their nature-loving family members.
“Bennie the Bear – Friends of the Forest,” is the third picture and rhyming book in the Bennie the Bear Children's Book series. The book is available in the Kindle eBook version for free until Jan. 20. The paperback version is available for $9.99.
“My intention with the Bennie the Bear Book series is to teach young children through Bennie the Bear, with fun illustrations and adventures,” said deBraga “I want to take them through experiences that teach them life skills, such as in my new book, where Bennie explores the great outdoors, meeting the critters of the forest along the way. From snails, to rabbits, to raccoons – teaching kids not only about the animals that inhabit the forest but sparking their interest in exploring nature.”
Bennie the Bear – Friends of the Forest, is a tale of a baby bear who finally had his biggest wish come true – he finally got a sibling! Her name is Copper the Fox. Bennie wanted to show Copper all of his friends in the forest he lives in. Their journey not only symbolizes the unbreakable bond of family but the unconditional acceptance and love of young children, while learning about the diverse animals of the forest.
deBraga was born and raised in Carson City. She attended the University of Nevada, Reno and graduated with her a degree in journalism. deBraga moved to Fallon after meeting her husband. The couple are expecting their first child on Valentine's Day. deBraga is beyond excited to share her books with her new daughter and nature-loving children and families, interested in learning through adventurous children's tales.
