JC Reid led the charge in Douglas’ 48-42 win over McQueen on Friday.
The senior guard was 7-of-13 from the floor en route to a 21-point performance that powered the Tigers to their ninth league win.
On top of his offensive outburst, Reid had five assists, four steals and two rebounds.
Fellow senior Theo Reid had another double-digit scoring effort, ending the game with 10 points and eight rebounds.
With three blocks, Reid brings his season total to 68, which is the second most in Nevada.
Jett Lehmann added seven points for Douglas while Thomas McDowell had six points and six rebounds.
UP NEXT: Douglas (13-8 overall, 9-3 in Class 5A league play) traveled to Bishop Manogue (12-11, 9-4) Tuesday before closing the week with Spanish Springs (15-6, 11-1) in Minden on Friday.
Douglas girls fall in tight contest against McQueen
Neither team managed a double-digit quarter Friday as the McQueen girls basketball escaped with a win over Douglas, 30-26.
The Tigers led by three at the half, 15-12, but only managed 11 points in the second half.
UP NEXT: Douglas (9-10 overall, 7-5 in Class 5A league play) took on Bishop Manogue (13-7, 11-2) on Tuesday and will host Spanish Springs (9-12, 7-5) on Friday in Minden.
Douglas wrestling prepares for regionals
The Douglas High wrestling team will head to Carson for the two-day regional wrestling tournament, beginning Friday at 2:30 p.m.
Action will run through the first round of the consolation and championship semifinals Friday evening before teams will return Saturday morning.
Consolation semifinals will lead things off Saturday at 9 a.m. before placing matches continue through the morning and early afternoon.
Championship matches are expected to begin around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
This year, six wrestlers from each weight class will qualify for the state wrestling tournament, opening possibilities for teams to send even more wrestlers to state.
