Meg Shea became executive director of Rebuilding Together Northern Nevada, Inc., on July 1, replacing Katie Pace, according to a news release. Pace will remain with RTNNV as a director of the corporation.

Shea comes to RTNNV after a varied career in the private sector, including asset management, consulting, development and real estate investment and housing support. A graduate of St. Mary’s College with degrees in business administration and economics, she has lived full-time in Reno since 2015. She is an outdoor enthusiast who can be found swimming in local lakes and hiking mountain trails.

“I am honored and excited by this opportunity to join Rebuilding Together Northern Nevada and add my contribution to its important mission of making homes in Northern Nevada safer and healthier for our neighbors in need and allowing them to age in place with dignity. I am looking forward to working with all our partners, contributors, and other stakeholders to expand Rebuilding Together’s reach and impact on our community,” Shea said in the release.

As RTNNV’s founder, first board president and current executive director, Pace has taken it from its inception in 2020 as an all-volunteer operation to a professionally staffed leader in providing home repairs and safety improvements to lower-income homeowners in Reno, Sparks and Carson City. RTNNV has made more than 647 repairs to 122 homes at no cost to homeowners. Pace has asked to step down from her position as executive director and return to membership on the Board of Directors.

“It’s been a privilege to serve as Rebuilding Together’s first executive director, and I’m proud of all we’ve accomplished so far,” Pace said. “There’s so much more to do, and I am confident that Meg will provide the leadership needed to take us to the next level. I look forward eagerly to working with her as we move forward with our critical mission of helping homeowners in need throughout Northern Nevada.”

RTNN is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation dedicated to repairing the homes of people in need with a focus on the elderly, disabled people and veterans. For more information, visit www.rebuildingtogether.org.
