Carson City man dies in Washoe Valley crash

A 19-year-old Carson City man died on June 25 in a crash U.S. 395A and William Brent Road, in Washoe Valley.

The preliminary investigation indicates that 2019 Infiniti Q60S sedan was traveling southbound on 395A south of William Brent Road, according to the Nevada State Police. The Infiniti began to leave the right side of the road before the driver corrected, steering left. The Infiniti rotated counterclockwise across the northbound travel lanes, continued into the shoulder, and struck a tree.

The passenger of the vehicle, Angel Cruzaley Mendez, died in the crash.

The driver was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Northern Command West M.I.R.T (Multidisciplinary Investigation & Reconstruction Team) is investigating this crash.

The fatality marks the Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol – Northern Command West 18th fatal crash, resulting in 19 fatalities for 2023.
