Blackwell’s Pond Park project to begin Monday

Playground replacement and landscape renovation at Blackwell’s Pond Park in northeast Carson City will begin Monday, July 17, according to a press release from the Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department.

“Four Point Engineering was awarded the contract on May 4, 2023, by the Board of Supervisors,” park officials said. “Heavy equipment, materials and workers will be present for the duration of the project. The contractor will have traffic control measures in place; however, it is best to avoid the area of Spooner Drive and Windridge Drive. The park will remain open during construction.”

Construction is expected to be completed by late October, according to the city.
