Fresh Outlook student exhibition in the Brick

Creativity and talent abound from Western Nevada College’s art students in the Capital City Arts Initiative’s Fresh Outlook 2023 exhibition.

The free exhibit is open to the public through Aug. 17 in the Community Development Building (the Brick), 108 E. Proctor St. The Brick is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to noon, and 1-4 p.m.

The exhibition video tour will be online soon at www.ccainv.org.

Fresh Outlook features 57 art works by 25 students from Western Nevada College’s Carson City campus. They used a wide variety of art media including drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, and ceramics.

Participating students include Callie Carlin, Nancy Lee Clark, Shiloh Cyphers, Michel Galgiani, Randall George, Ibis W.K. Hood, Hailey Jeffries, Stanley Juchtzer, Meg Klasko, Karyn Knecht, Winnie Kortemeier, John P. Lagios, Margit, Fraser Mason, Tess Nelson, Kaylee Nielsen, Marietta Sophie Paul, Emma Pitman, Andrea Sanchez De loza, Johnny Sayegh, Christian Service, Jess Sollini, Jessica Visnovits, Keana Wong, and Maria Woods.

Motivation and creative inspiration for the students came from their instructors: Teri Barnes, professor Jayna Conkey, Rachel Moseley, Colleen Reynolds, professor Rachel Stiff and Matt Theilen. The show is another in CCAIs ongoing series of student exhibitions in the Brick.
